The labour ministry is likely to introduce a proposal to increase the stipulated equity investment limit of 15% at the next central board of trustees (CBT) meeting on June 26. Any change in the norm will require the finance ministry to notify the new investment pattern. The EPFO has more than 50 million subscribers. The National Pension System (NPS) under the finance ministry gives subscribers the choice of investing as much as 75% in stocks.
